Sun-Sentinel, Sept. 14, 1989: “For the first time in its 14 years, the drama critics of the South Florida Entertainment Writers’ Association have chosen the winners of its Carbonell Award road-show categories in advance of the annual presentation. The action was taken this week because the critics felt that local theater competition had begun to overshadow recognition of the touring shows at the ceremony. (All shows appeared on the Zev Bufman/PTG-Florida Inc. “Broadway Series” at the Parker Playhouse, Royal Poinciana Playhouse and/or Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts).”
